Colorado river!!!!!
Hoover Dam
Dear Diary,
I visited the Colorado River for a couple of days. The first day, I visited all of the dams it goes through. The Glen Canyon Dam, Hoover Dam, Davis Dam, Parker Dam, Laguana Dam, and the Imperial Dam. I never heard of any of these dams. The Hoover Dam is well known but I've never seen it until now. It was very beautiful. I cannot imagine how a group of workers could build this amazing thing! It stands strong. My tour guide explained that this dam was originally named "Boulder Dam", but it was later renamed after Herbert Hoover.
The next day, my guide lead us to see the lakes the river passes through. We saw Lake Powell, Lake Mead, Lake Mahave, Lake Havasu, and Lake Martinez. They were all extremely extraordinary. There were a lot of fish. We were able to swim in some of these.
Later on, we visited the historical sites of the Colorado River. We saw Lees Ferry, El Dorado Canyon Searchlight, Chloride Katherine Oatman, Lake Havasu City, and Hedges Tumco Picacho Slab City.
The cities we went to are Page, Arizona, Moab, Utah, St. George, Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada, Laughlon, Nevada, and Bullhead City, Arizona.
Overall, I have learned much about rivers through my various visits to their locations, and will continue to learn even more.
